Well this holiday was definatly a different one. No parents, no family, and no body. I enjoyed it, well as much as I could have. The dreamy buddy is still in Naples Florida. I miss her very much.

Joe Strummer of the Clash has died at age 50. I was very fond of the Clash, and also the 101'ers. He will be missed.

Same as usual. More meaningless photos of parties and cats. Hope this covers your fix for the next day or so. Sorry I have not posted anything good lately. I have been for some reason been really busy with my Xmas cards. I am painting every one by hand. Hope you enjoy them.

Keep checking the site, I am going to be off for 2 weeks starting next week. I hope to document more there. As for Xmas, I am taking a picture every hour that I am awake on that day beginning with the 24th. It is my documentation of my lonely-ness for the holiday. Nothing to make you sad by, but it will keep my mind off the emptiness. Hope you at least check it out. I am looking for ward cuz there will be very bad images of me, and who knows, I might be naked too. A first for danmerk.com...

If there is one live group that I have to pick to recap this amazing summer it would be Interpol. That night marked many things for me and it will definitely go down as most memorable. For both mentally and physically. The show was truly amazing. The music, the people, and the memories. I shot tons of pics there and have some of the best images from that night. Too bad those crack smoking losers took the camera and I have only the web versions, but oh well. I have the CD and the glimpses from the mind.

I was chatting with John at Bent Crayon this morning, and he mentioned that Interpol was making their way back to Ohio. They are playing on January 10th at the Music Factory in Columbus, as well as St. Andrews in Detroit. I am prob going to both. I need more pics! At the site Interpol they have posted tour dates, and included a video for the greatest title on the CD--PDA. Check it out! It is totally worth it, very great song, and the video was shot well directed by Christopher Mills.

I will be putting up images from Sat/Sun soon. Like later today.

Mixing beverages the right way

Now I do not claim to actually be a "know it all" but it seems to be a trait that I fight every day. Really. I know this. ;)

Seriously though, one thing I am pretty good at is being perceptive to my beverages and how they are put together.

Beverages? Yes beverages. A properly created drink can soothe even the roughest days.

When I am in the office and the afternoon seems a bit hectic and scattered, I lift this meaty body out of my hot seat, and head to the kitchen for a cup of warm co-co. (Yes in the summer I put together some great iced-tea, you'll just have to wait for that recipe) Since I am very perceptive on this experience I would like to share with you. I have completed much research on this subject--how to mix the co-co for optimum flavor and texture.

It is very important that you use filtered water. I work in a warehouse that was erected (I said erected...) in 1920; who the heck knows what is in our pipes. I place a mug of appropriate size on the clean counter and pour from the Britta, a 18oz. Mug of clean water. I place this into the micorwave for warming. Aprox 5 min 30 sec. This is the correct temperature. (Every micorwave is different) Here is where the critical part comes. When completed, take out the mug, place onto the clean surface. It is ready for the co-co.

Nay you say the co-co should be placed in another mug and then pour the piping hot water over this powdery substance! NO NO, this was the theory from an era where Max Headroom told us to "Catch the Wave". They were wrong. Putting the co-co in first only loosens up this powder, but definatly alters the flavor. Trust me on this. I suggest putting in the co-co over the water. Stir(clockwise) vigorously until disolved. I like mine with cream. I add the soy based powder right on top. Stir again in the same fashion. Enjoy.

This information was written because I want everyone to enjoy a warm cup of co-co when their day gowes wrong. I promise you that it will definitely make you day less chaotic and charge you with that last few hours of energy before the rest of the evening awaits. (Ahem, I just had my cup and I have only been here for an hour ;) ) But one thing to make sure of here, The powder does not go first. Thanks, and you'll thank me.

So this January marks the annual Sporting Goods Super Show. I went last year and it was ok, but this year will be much more memorable. For three reasons.

1. I won't have a booth filled with wares to peddle.
2. I am going alone.
3. The dreamy little buddy has to be at a conference in Las Vegas that week too!!!!

This is very cool. I fly to Vegas on a Monday. Stay alone for 1 day in Vegas. Then on Tuesday the DB flies in late that afternoon. The rest of the week is drinking and gambling the usual DanMerk.com way.

On that Friday evening, there is a strong possibility that I will be hitting Reno for a weekend on the slopes in Tahoe. We found a great deal for like $350 per person. Includes lodging and 2 day lift tics. I am still debating weather or not, but I might do it.

This time, I am going to have a blast. I want to take the DanMerk.com cam and harass more people, and take advantage of the Vegas shuffle. It will be cold, but this will be more good times to slate in the DM.com life. Who knows, I may end up getting married to the Austrian Hottie out there by Elvis. You know he is still alive and has Blonde hair...

My friend Holly is having a party this Sat. I am looking forward to that. There is another party as well. Some friend of the DB, so we are going to both. I am going to have fun. Anything else going on? Cmon!

Ok the dreamy buddy has been asking me to let everyone know that snow is good. AND that we all need to get together and ride the slopes in PA/NY as much as possible.

Well this weekend was great. Spent time with the Dreamy buddy's parents in upstate Michigan. Left Friday afternoon, and then came home on Sunday. Drank a bunch, relaxed, bought some country things. I even got a present I was able to put on the tree. She has a great family. I even learned some German.

The drive was ok, but seeing all the murder on top of some hick trucks sucked. What can u expect, this is the way people survive out there. Right. :(

Check out the Silliness section. There are some movies from the drive. You def need headphones, or a speaker. Too funny.
