War stuff
I will not post anti/pro war stuff here. I am just posting something I read today on the Sports Illustrated web site. This is horrible.
"I know what they went through," adds Haydar, who escaped from Iraq in 1998 and now lives in London. "I was tortured four times after matches. One time, after a friendly [match] against Jordan in Amman that we lost 2-0, Uday had me and three teammates taken to the prison. When we arrived, they took off our shirts, tied our feet together and pulled our knees over a bar as we lay on our backs. Then they dragged us over pavement and concrete, pulling the skin off our backs. Then they pulled us through a sandpit to get sand in our backs. Finally, they made us climb a ladder and jump into a vat of raw sewage. They wanted to get our wounds infected. The next day, and for every day we were there, they beat our feet. My punishment, because I was a star player, was 20 [lashings] per day. I asked the guard how he could ever forgive himself. He laughed and told me if he didn't do this, Uday would do it to him. Uday made us athletes an example. He believed that if people saw he was not afraid to beat a hero, that they would live in greater fear." --Taken from Sports Illustrated Article "Son of Saddam"

Happy Birthday to me...
It is my birthday. I am 31. I never thought I would get that far in life. I always had this story that I would jump out of a plane, naked, over the Cleveland Bowns Stadium during a Steelers vs. Browns game. Holding grenades and UZIS. Taking out the DAWG POUND in my path.
Well I grew up and I am very happy that I am where I am. I want to extend my birthday wish to all my friends and families that have been so great to me all these years. Through drug addiction, prostitution, occult worship, and abortion, I think I turned out just fine. Thanks everyone. Love all of you.
Oh yeah, I forgot. The dreamy buddy woke up really early and baked me cookies and got me a present. she came over before work and left it on my doorstep. WOW. I love her sooo much!
Hope to see you at the gallery tonight. Three M is gonna be great! New stuff. I promise. Look for pics.

My war jitters
Seems to me that either I am wigged out from this war thing, or I can not deal with a full moon.
All evening I have been sitting around and feeling twitchy. I sometimes get this way from the spring air. But I am guessing that it is just some blood pressure thing. I am a bit nervous for my pops, who just left for Hong Kong. He goes there every 8 weeks for our business. I urged him not to be a macho guy and if he gets sniffely, to go see someone. This plague is hitting close to home now. :(
Sitting here making updates, I have been watching CNN, and I wrote to the question of the day about responses to recent happenings. Here is what I wrote, am I sitting on the fence alone? Just curious. No harsh things please, I wanted to hear your thoughts. Give it some thought. I did.

I am completely outraged by the response to war recently made from celebrity icons. These people are influences to many American people, and by showing their lack of support for the country that provides the outlet for their artforms, clearly demonstrates acts of treason.
I am not in support of war/violence of any kind, however I am holding my flag which represents the freedom to do what I hold passion for. I would challenge these symbols to try and express their creativity in countries such as Iraq, or any occupied terrorist harboring nations.
Thanks and best regards,
Daniel

My 3 Spots
Well it is in, we are probably going to war. Bush urged Saddahm to leave his own country. Wow. That is pretty much crazy.
Well I naturally had to think this one over, and I made the the decision to establish three meeting spots for my friends and family. If there is some form of warlike action taken towards Cleveland, I chose the following three places to meet:
Note all of the following are in this particular order, and must be traveled by foot since all roadways will be jammed with cars.
1. My apartment (Brick Basement which is actually a fallout shelter + lake Erie is next to me -- for water)
2. Under the 252 Bridge in the Metro parks (I used to slide on the rocks when I was a kid, in the river. Then when I was about 10 I realized that it was the route to Cuyahoga Water treatment plant. UGH!)
3. Manja (for obvious reasons, cmon, lets got to manja!)
If there is anyone that wants to share any of those places drop me an email and I will put you on my list. The dreamy buddy and I are actually going to hang out near some nuclear drop site so we can become sterile and hairless. We were thinking of taking our hairless cats (which we bought leashes for them) and walk to the Arizona desert to live in an earth ship made from recycled garbage. Wanna come?

Lost entry in Photo J + Volvo Stuff
For some reason I seemed to have lost an entry in my photo journal. I put in 03_10_2003, and now it is missing. Weird.
Since I am going to be picking up the Volvo in a few days now, I have been perusing the web of forums and resource lists for Volvo 850 Ts. The only one I think I would like to share with all of you non Volvo people (cept Sven), check this out. hilarious.

Making headway these days.
OK, I am making more of an effort to update the site. Thanks to Steven Intermill on this one. ;)
Working on the 409 show and I will keep reminding you of the show, so please make it! I promise it is going to be fun.
Spent the evening with my pal Dan. We are going to be working on some cool promo for his acting career. This will be very cool!
More things to come. Oh and still nothing on the Volvo yet, but I imagine that it will take place real soon. I am really anxious. Good bye Focus. :\

My weekend
Well I completed my piece for the 409 show at buzz. I am really excited for this show since almost 4 years ago, 409 was merely an idea I had with John Forrest. Please show support and go!
I updated the photo journal. Check it out. More to come this week. I have some ideas for silkscreening our uniforms for the show. I was going to document how I do this. Cool!
Monday I am learning more about the Volo, and getting closer to having a new car (at least for me.)
The dreamy buddy and I played Dominos Sunday evening. I had a blast. She is great. I am so amazed that we are still kicking. :)
Our interview for Inside Business went very well, I can not wait to see the issue!

No car.
Yep. no car. Spent the entire morning at the title bureau. Got the temps, put them on the car. The mechanic called me. All Brakes are seized. $1700 to fix.
Tomorrow the mechanic will have a title to a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo.
I think I can afford new walking shoes. RTA here I come.
