seems like old times.

Opening the camera today I realized that I am falling very much behind in taking images these days. Sorry.

Last weekend I spent with my cousins as mentioned. Has a blast. We traveled all over Cleveland showing them all the neat little living spaces that surround the downtown area. I think they especially liked Ohio City, where the Dreamy Little Fiancée (DLF) and I live. Seems that they will be making some decisions to move from the Motor City to either Cleveland (lets hope) or Chicago. Leave your encouraging or discouraging comments in this post.

We tried out a newer Middle Eastern restaurant on W25th; Kan Zaman. Great Place. No; very great place. 5 star great place. For $39 USD, we fed 6 adults, and smoked hubbley bubbley--cola flavored. The music was very loud at first, but I think the 2 musicians playing were getting ready for a Saturday evening event. The food was excellent and surprisingly great proportions. I was only able to take film with me as I had my Nikormat and not the digi cam. I will try and get some images from that evening posted. Until then, check out the pic Chris took of himself and his wife Amber.

More to come.

the wonderful weekend.

This weekend my cousins are staying with us. We are having dinner at the Khare's, driving around Cleveland to look at houses for their possible move to this wonderful city. Saturday evening we will be hanging out at Pirate's Cove to watch the Jacknife Powerbombs. Should be a fun weekend.

Be sure to check out the recipe section as I added a recipe for Oliver's Wit, a Belgian Wit named after my cat. Why? Because Ed and I are starting up a microbrew company called "Cat Hair Brews". Look out for our next batch-- Oat-Rael Stout. (Named after Rael our other cat.)

back to china.

Today I am drinking Yindee Black tea. It is tasting so good. There is a system for drinking tea at work. I begin with a few pebbles of Chinese Gunpowder Green Tea in my special infuser cup purchased from the Tink Hall in China Town. Then I go for a teabag of Green Tea, then onto Yindee Black. Lunch time is a piping hot cup of Jasmine, because Jasmine tea tastes amazing with the sweetness of my peanutbutter on wholewheat.

Oh, I just found out that this kid is heading back to Hong Kong and Taiwan. I have to cancel my trip to Holiday Valley to go snowboarding with the DLF. [oh yea, I changed her nick to 'Dreamy Little Fiancée' because we are now engaged to one another] Anyways, I am going to do some more shopping there and probably get a shirt made for me by some Indian tailor. The last time I was in HK, I was bombarded by Indian tailors asking me if I wanted a shirt custom made. I hear they make really beautiful clothes for very little money, and they are hand-made for you.

This time, I keep up with posts, upload pics of the day to keep you informed with my journeys. I will also see that large Buddha on the island near HK. (Name escapes me, leave a comment if you know.) Will try to also hit more ships, tours, and ferries as I love the sea. The last time I was there I bought a messenger bag for $3 USD, it is ripped, now I am looking for a better bag to carry my cameras.

Any requests? I can buy something and then ship out using, ahem, FedEx (sorry ed). Let me know.

nothing to say.

Since none of you have anything to say, then I have nothing to say. :P

using new equipment

For the last 2 days I have been taking tons of pictures. I rented a Nikon D100 (digital SLR). OMG! This camera is amazing. I can not believe how much I miss looking through a real lens. This will be the next purchase I make. Well actually looking a the D2, but would settle for this cam.

Sorry for the lack of posting since my return, but I wanted more visibility on getting engaged because I know some of you read one a month. ;)

Tomorrow: Another day.

she said yes!

I would like to introduce to the world to the one person I am meshuga with love; my fiancée--Monique. Yes that is right! On December 31st 2003, I asked the Dreamy Little Buddy to marry me, and she accepted with tears and open arms! (Yes I cried my eyes out too!)

It happened in La Jolla on the beach at sunset, around 5pm. We walked for most of the day on the beach, and we found a place to sit in a secluded place. As the sun went into the water and the sky was a beautiful magenta, I knelt on one knee and asked the most wonderful person to spend the rest of her life with me. (of course I am leaving out all the mushy stuff I said...) It happened so perfectly. She looked in my eyes and screamed 'YES'! I was surprised to see that she never looked at the ring, rather stared in my eyes and held me closer. I asked "Aren't you going to look at the ring I made for you?" She laughed and then was shocked to see this piece of jewelry I made. It fit!

The rest of the trip was amazing. 65° almost everyday. Our room, the jeep, the food--oh yeah, the food. Wow. For NYE dinner I made arrangements at Georges. 8 courses. One Shiraz, and 2 'tinis. $400. I have never spent so much on one meal. But this was the most amazing experience I have ever had.

The sunsets were amazing, the beaches were wonderful. I can not say more. If you see me in person, I will tell you. But for now, it is back to the gym for this ball of goo. I think I am the largest I have ever been. The beer, Mexican food, and lack of exercise is enough to get upset over. My fiancée and I (love how that sounds!) are hitting the gym, and leaving out pizzas from now on.

Her beautiful hands.
