F@¢K US AIRWAYS

I said it, and I mean it. Stuck in an airport for 1 day. Why? Because of consistently bad planning! I know a few people that fly US AIR and they are always bumped around. I could not believe how amazingly inefficient this company is. You know there is a problem when a group of employees give each other "high-fives" when they meet a schedule. I saw this happen only once in 13 hours I was at an airport. How amazingly dumb!

Vegas was great. Had a blast, and enjoyed meeting new people. The wedding was very nice as well. I have placed some images in the photos section of the trip. Oh I am all nice and cooked as I was at the pool for 3 days straight. I love swimming. I love being half naked.

fish made me stink.

Fish made me stink.

Mark your calendars folks, I am not a true vegetarian. I have been eating fish now for a month. I like tilapia, most light fishes, tuna, and even sashimi grade fishes. I am still kinda getting through the booger-ery mouth feel of shellfish such as scallops, mussels, clams, and oysters.

Not being a veg is not a bad thing, hell after 11 years I feel good about my effort to eating healthier. I am still watching what I eat, and making sure that things do not have chicken, beef, or pork in them. The most difficult thing to deal with here is that I am not beginning to stink again. Seriously. For almost 12 years, I never had to use deodorants or harsh chemicals to keep the underarms from making people gasp when I am a bit on the gamey side. But since I began eating fish, my pits are bogus. The stone is only working for 6-8 hours a day now. This sucks. What also sucks is that my poop is beginning to smell again too! How do you people deal with this?

Oh I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow. See you soon. Hey maybe I can revisit the Vegas Busted videos.

eating like crazy.

Been eating more protein and better fibrous vegetables. Cottage cheese and oatmeal in the morning. A few snacks here and there containing nuts, celery, and red peppers. I love whole foods. Water is a must. I am learning this; thanks to C Loeser. The exercise is getting easier so I think I need to evaluate my routine. I can do a 5K without breaking a sweat now. I think I want to move to a 10K. I think there are a few coming up. The hardest thing is beer. I love beer. The taste, the smell, the feeling. Tonight I brew night. I am really excited as I am making all grain beer this evening as my first real all grain. See Cat Hair Brews to understand why.

I uploaded more images of Sunday in the Journal, but you knew that because I added a module to show you that. ;)

a day at the beach.

Ok so the picture shows my cat sitting next the sink. This is because I left the images of Gigi at the beach at home. The photos are just some images that I took of Dreamy taking an afternoon nap with our little sis. She was so fun on Sunday to hang out with. She was with her older siblings and I am sure she had a blast at the beach. I know I did.

Tomorrow: The Beach close up.

I AM SO BORING Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z z z z z z z z z . . .

My first beer judging. 4th place in Extracts. This was a brew that Ed and I made called Oliver's Wit. I thought I was a Belgian Wit, but was recategorized as a Witbier. Kinda bummed on that. It was because of the high in the wheat and color department as there was too much of the stuff. Oh well. The nose was very spicy and sour on the tongue. Probably from the orange bitterness. The bottom line was that it was too spicy for a Witbier, overall scores were good, but dinked in the fact that it was mislabeled as a Belgian Wit. Less spice next time.

Chris and Amber are back in town again. Amber starts work on Monday and they are closing up on their house. I am so excited to have them so close to me. He is pretty much my closest family member. Like a brother. We really enjoy both of their company.

tasting tonight.

Happy Cinco de Mayo. Tonight I am having the SNOBS (Society of Northern Ohio Brewers) taste Oliver's Wit. I am slowly becoming a member, and wanted to get involved more in the local part of brewing. I guess this group of poeple are great brewers. Just want to test drive first. Since I do nto know anyone in the group, what better way than to drink with the judges. They asked if I was interested in judging with them tonight. I think they mean I can hang with them so I can learn more about judging. I really enjoy tasting the many fruity flavors of malt an hops. Not sure if I like the yeast part...

Bug soup.

27 minutes, 11 seconds. I beat my time by 33 seconds. Not bad. Still trying to get better, but the run was great. The weather sucked. Rained all morning, and was like 35° outside. Brigitte Monique and I stayed outside all morning. My throat is scratchy today and Monique is sick. Damn rain!

Race Results

Yesterday I made soup. Well, I added a package of Manaschewitz vegetable soup pack (99¢) and an onion with some extra mushroom bouillon to a slow cooker. I left for the local brew store. Came back 2 hours later and inside the cooker there were a million tiny little bugs. The vacuum seal pack must have been contaminated with bugs and then they all died as the life was sucked out of them. Monique freaked out. I threw out the soup. Kinda bogus.
